“Neen..”
“Hmm?”
“Sho-san.. Did he hate me?”
Nino raised his head from the sketches to look at Jun. “Why did you ask so?” he asked back.
“Sho-san, he hasn’t talked to me since the revelation.”
Nino stopped from doing his job. He stood up and went to the sink to wash his hands. “If he hasn’t talked to you, why don’t you talk to him?” he reasoned.
“It makes sense, right? I heard the doctor said before, that I’m going to be a ton of work. Why should he put up with people like me?”
Nino felt a pang in his chest. ‘What is it this time, Jun?’ he thought. He walked towards Jun’s direction and sat beside him. “Are you hungry? Do you want to eat anything? We can have light snack.” Nino suggested.
Jun shook his head. He has also stopped working and sat silently on the chair. He pulled his leg close to his chest, wrapped his arms around it and buried his head in between his knees. “Why didn’t I die, Nino? Why should I survive? Why did they leave me? Why did Sho-san take care of me instead of just let me be? He didn’t have to. I am just trouble to him, to you and to everyone!” Jun started to sob. “Why??!” he kept asking.
Nino didn’t say or do anything. He let Jun cry. He knew him. Jun will cry until he felt exhausted and fell asleep. However, it didn’t mean that it was easy for him to see Jun like that. He took his phone from his pant’s pocket and texted Sho.
>Tonight, after having dinner, when Jun is calm enough, make sure to talk to him properly. I know it was stupid of you to talk about his past like that. Help him properly, Sho-chan.<
Nino sent the message to Sho. After a while, Jun’s sobbing has calm, and he has stopped crying. “Do you want to go home?” Nino asked, wrapping his arm around Jun. Jun shook his head. “Don’t tell Sho-san.” He said.
“He would know even if I don’t tell him.”
“He won’t!” Jun insisted.
“Jun-kun,” Nino said softly. “How long do you think Sho-kun has been with you? As transparent as you are to me, don’t you think Sho-kun has it much more easier for him to read you than me?” Nino gave a soft smile.
Jun stared at Nino with wide, red eyes. “He does?” Jun asked.
Nino nodded. “You see, Jun-kun. Sho-kun loves you so much. That’s why he would endure anything for you. Even when you are being difficult, he didn’t leave you. Because he loves you. And just that reason is enough for him to stay with you. No matter what, no matter when, he is always with you.”
“Neen..”
“Hmm?”
“I lied to him.”
“What did you lie about?”
Jun went silent. He did not want to talk about that to anyone. Not to Nino, not to Sho. But Nino said Sho loves him.
“Will he hate me?” Jun asked instead.
Nino hugged Jun tighter. His lips ghosting on Jun’s hair. “He will be mad, I think. But that doesn’t make him hate you. Like I said, he loves you. And he is not mad because you lie to him, but because you think that he can’t see through you. Don’t you trust him, Jun?” Nino asked softly.
Another stream of tears fell off Jun’s eyes. Did he trust Sho? Would he allow himself to trust people? Did he trust himself? “I love him, Nino. I don’t want him to leave me.” Jun said almost whispering to himself.
“Tell that to him properly. I know he would love to hear that directly from you. Don’t you trust me?”
Jun nodded.
Nino thought it was enough for now. He let Jun to go to the washroom to refresh himself. He checked on his phone. There was a message from Sho.
>Is he okay?<
>For now, yes. I think he wanted to be honest with you about something. He didn’t tell me what but I think you know it anyway. Just talk to him.<
>Thank you, Nino. As always.<
>You both are my friends. I have my share with Jun too, you know. Don’t you dare forget that.<
>No. Never. I owe you a lot. See you later. And send my regards to Ohno-san. He was lucky to have you as his boyfriend.<
>What? You sounds jealous. Hahaha…<
>I mean that he was lucky to have a concern people like you as a boyfriend. But I think I changed my mind. You aren’t that nice anyway. Maybe I should take pity of him. Heh!<
>How dare you?! Just when I saved your beloved boyfriend from another breakdown. I hate you.<
>Yeah, I love you too. Bye, Nino.<
Nino threw his phone on the sofa. ‘Ungrateful jerk! Urgh!’ he thought annoyedly.
